it seems the month of april, has offered every last damn drop. and the fire keeps on burning, oh my god. it's sad to see the love behind all those wars you fought. statues of your loved ones now long gone. and oh my god. oh my god. oh my god. it'd be nice for just one summer, if these fields could farm themselves. because the work that they require i can't send. in just another hour a man will find himself as his sons begin to learn what it takes to be a man. oh my god. oh my god. oh my god. you never done anything but those things you've done for them. you waited your whole damn life, now this is what you get. you never saw anything but those things you never saw. you gave everything and they barely glanced at all. oh my god. oh my god. oh my god. the fire in your lost heart should be no harder to sell than the lies that they rely on time again. the line between what's wrong and right is sometimes blurred to hell. get up, get going, get on with those idle hands. oh my god. oh my god. oh my god. you never done anything but those things you done for them. you waited your whole damn life and now this is what you get. you never saw anything but those things you never saw. you gave everything and they barely cared at all. you gave everything and they barely glanced at all.

the cold air cuts the tension like the dead trees shed their leaves. and i can sense the apprehension blowing off your breath to you tiny knees. these dead hills they shake my bones. these dead hills they shake mybones. like a broken tambourine. today i'm thinking that i've got quite a lot to thank you for. but it's just one sinking feeling that sends my heart straight overboard. these blue waves they crush me down. these dark waves they drowned me out. before you save me on the shore. rain drips from my thinning hair, down my nose, then through my teeth. and i wish that you were standing here watching the red pulse through our streets. they always drag me home. they always drag me home. before i ever want to leave. so temperamental, tried, and true just like a dream. i woke up from in a cold sweat, you had died on account of me. when we get the wish of a better view, tell me who the fuck will see? these eyes they burn like hell. yeah these eyes they burn like hell.
3.
you've been torn into two by all of those dirty things that you do. when all of the tidal waves washed out a whirlwind came in and blew you down. haven't you been quite through enough? you're hanging signs in your front lawn depicting your candy coated sins. you what little love you'd found again in all of the things you'd wished you'd done like the patch that you use to cover up the stories you've been telling everyone. you try to by your friends and you've still got none. it's all just a dream. a whale of a tale. just like the rest. oh it never took much to trick the best. you did it well. you live your lies. oh you live your lies. the weather's getting cold. it twists and it turns creating folds in all of the straight laced boys and girls. they're breaking the rules and they're taking their turns. to see who the first to fall will be. they're protecting their invulnerability in sweater weather smoke filled clubs. whoever said that once could ever be enough? to learn a bit about ourselves we have to appreciate the heavens to get through these hells and file in a line so so long we have to find the time to write these silly songs. it's all just a dream. a whale of a tale. it's just like the rest. oh it never took much to trick the best, i did it well, i lived my lies. oh i live my lies.
4.
somebody please pinch me now as hard as you can, wake me up from this dream. cause i can see how it's going to end. despite best efforts from your strong hand, i sink beneath the sea, rise up too fast and catch the bends. it's over now, it's over-rated. the world outside these eyelids will exist to me no more. it's over now, it's over-rated. it will take a goddamn miracle to wake me on your porch. somebody please kiss me now as hard as you can. they took my breath away, and i don't like how it's going to end. despite best efforts from my locked lips. you pull me from the fire, and i get caught up in electrical wire. it's over now, it's over-rated. the world outside these eyelids will exist to me no more. it's over now, it's over-rated. there's not a living soul that can wake me from this stupor.
