Part II - One Night in the Fall

from The God Fearing Boy by Fred Oakman

/

lyrics

He’s a big thinking boy with a home loving heart. With convictions that know no end to their start. He put himself through some trouble, himself through some pain. He fell in love with a good girl who wouldn’t learn his name. Well she turned up missing one night in the fall. And he went out searching, found nothing at all but a notebook and suitcase, a torn page that read “Don’t fear that which you don’t understand. We gotta do, what we gotta do, what we gotta do to get ahead.” He’s not just a God Fearing Boy, he’s scared of so much more than that. It’s sad when such a brilliant boy will let his fears hold him back.
